ANXIETY THERAPY

When anxiety starts shaping your decisions, routines, relationships, or sense of self, it can be hard to know how to get unstuck. You may look like you’re functioning well on the outside while internally dealing with overthinking, panic, avoidance, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or constant worry.
I offer online anxiety therapy for adults and teens in Lakeway, Bee Cave, the Lake Travis area, Austin, and across Texas. My work is active, practical, and evidence-based, helping clients build skills for responding differently to anxiety instead of organizing life around fear.

PROVEN APPROACHES

How therapy can help anxiety.

Anxiety treatment is not just about talking through worries. It is about learning how anxiety works, noticing the patterns that keep it going, and practicing new ways to respond to anxious thoughts, body sensations, and uncertainty.

I use practical, research-supported approaches like CBT, ACT, and exposure-based strategies. In plain language, that means we may work on noticing unhelpful anxiety loops, changing how you respond to anxious thoughts and feelings, and slowly facing the things anxiety has been telling you to avoid.

Exposure-based work helps you gradually face situations, sensations, or uncertainties that anxiety has made feel dangerous. This is done at a pace that makes sense, with support, so you can build confidence and reduce avoidance over time.

ACT helps you make room for uncomfortable thoughts and feelings without letting them run your life. Instead of waiting to feel completely calm, we work on taking small steps toward what matters, even when anxiety shows up.

CBT helps you understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In therapy, this might mean identifying patterns that fuel anxiety, questioning anxious predictions, and practicing more helpful responses.

What Anxiety
Can Look Like

Anxiety does not always look obvious. Sometimes it looks like overthinking, perfectionism, trouble sleeping, irritability, difficulty making decisions, or needing a lot of reassurance. Sometimes it looks like avoiding things quietly. Other times, it looks like pushing through everything while feeling tense, exhausted, or disconnected inside.

Anxiety can also show up as panic attacks, social anxiety, health worries, intrusive thoughts, fear of making mistakes, fear of disappointing others, or feeling unable to relax even when nothing is technically wrong.

You Do Not Have to Wait Until Things Feel Unmanageable

You do not have to wait until anxiety is completely disrupting your life to get support. If anxiety is taking up too much mental space, making your world smaller, or keeping you from doing things that matter to you, therapy can help.

The goal is not to never feel anxious. The goal is to build a different relationship with anxiety, so you have more freedom in how you respond.
